Once upon a time…
...at the very beginning of the XX century, in the beautiful city of Granada,
D. José Navarro López acquired, whith great hope illusion, the old Cafetín del Gato,
located in Plaza Bib-Rambla.
Seduced by its beauty, he renamed the Café to CAFÉ LECHERÍA BIB-RAMBLA and turned it into “the meeting point of the most distinguished inhabitants of Granada”, benefiting that “sad and abandoned” city square from the great numbers of people that visited the new Café.
The Gran Café Bib-Rambla served its clients and friends the best homemade products with the greatest love and care that could be given. They even toasted their coffee beans, impregnating the whole square with great aromas.
Churros with hot chocolate, still today the best in the city, yummy ice-creams, the delicious leche rizada (or meringued milk), pastries and pancakes, the sarsaparilla, the artisanal liquors…
Of course, all of this made the Café burst with success, making Don José’s dream into a delicious reality.
Now, having surpassed its first century of life, Gran Café Bib-Rambla is a beautiful and picturesque place, filled to the brim with magic, fresh smells and amazing flavours.
Some say that, if you close your eyes, take a deep breath and sit down on its terrace between the big old linden trees, you’ll be able to feel the heartbeat of past times and experiences… and when you open your eyes again, the freshly roasted coffee beans aroma and the velvety feel of the hot chocolate will reach every single one of your senses
and still far, far away…
